Teaching method

At Stepping Stones we use ABA to teach in a wide variety of settings. Every moment of the child’s day is seen as a learning opportunity, and tutors use child specific reinforcers to reward behaviours they want to increase, such as functional appropriate communication, responding correctly to a question, or getting a sum right.

Each behaviour we want to teach is broken down into steps appropriate to that specific child, and many opportunities are set up throughout the day for the child to practice that skill. Skills are taught in intensive table-top teaching (ITT) sessions, and in natural environment teaching (NET) sessions.
